Restaurant industry icon Truett Cathy, founder
and chairman of Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A, Inc. celebrates a 60-year legacy
that is as much about values as business success. And while he is perhaps
best known as the inventor of the quick-service industry's first chicken
sandwich, Cathy is also widely recognized for his philanthropic efforts and
the values he has been able to instill in young people.
Still at the helm of the chain, the 85-year old patriarch of the
Chick-fil-A® brand has adapted to changes in American culture, the
restaurant industry and the corporate environment, but stayed true to the
principles he held 60 years ago when he opened his first restaurant. Now a
$2 billion company with more than 1,250 restaurants in 38 states,
Chick-fil-A remains a family-owned business that still adheres to its
60-year-old "Closed on Sunday" policy. With the recent opening of a
Chick-fil-A restaurant in Tampa, Fla. that is operated by Cathy's grandson,
Andrew, the family's third ...

Virgin Records' rock band 30 SECONDS TO MARS
has just released their exclusive "Two Beautiful Lies" EP through iTunes.
Two weeks ago the band asked their fans to submit photos for a set of
digital liner notes to accompany their new single for "The Kill" and the
response was tremendous. In just 24 hours, over 1,000 fans submitted their
digital photos. The photos have been transformed into a 36-page photo book
that is now bundled with the EP, which includes "The Kill" and a previously
unreleased live recording of "Attack" at iTunes for $1.49.
The video for "The Kill," loosely inspired by themes of isolation and
insanity present in the Kubrickian nightmare "The Shining," was ranked #1
in the Hot 5 Videos on MTV.com for the past two weeks while, during the
week of May 1, it was #1 on Fuse's Oven Fresh. The video comes midway
through their first national headlining tour, where 30 SECONDS TO MARS is
leaving a trail of sold-out shows, with dates added constantly and venues
often upgra...

Total comparable consolidated restaurant sales were $9.2 million for the
fiscal month ended May 1, 2006, a 4.7% decrease from the $9.7 million from
the same time period in 2005. Some of the sales decline in April can be
attributed to the timing of this year's observance of Easter, which was
included in our March results in 2005. Easter is typically a quiet week
for the restaurants. Comparable consolidated restaurant sales include only
units that have been open for 15 months or longer and exclude the Smith &
